HAPPY ZUTARA WEEK 2012!!!
As soon as I got the prompts, I began brainstorming what I wanted. This one we quite a few revisions before I got the final idea and the wonderful image that I was, for once, able to copy exactly from my head.
Now, I should be working on some porfolio work this week instead of this, so I've decided something very important: Unlike last year, when I made sure everything was in-universe ((to an extent...^_-)), this year I will be making all of them AU, so that I have a chance to design some costumes. Yay, two birds with one stone!
Onto the story behind this work:
Katara is all set to marry Aang, but has last minute regrets. She can't do it. So she runs off, out onto the city steet. There, she finds Zuko, who was just dumped by his date to the wedding, Mai. He's been crying, and Katara reaches for his face to wipe away the tears there, as seen in the drawing. It's highly reminiscent of the Crossroads of Destiny famous screenshot, and is slightly based after that. Obviously, it's a different angle on purpose.
