Not cosplay, not pencil drawing, and not fanart?! What can this be?!

Believe it or not, I love to watercolor...Okay, not really. This is the second watercolor painting I've ever done in my life. My first was [link] from '09. As you can tell, my artistry itself has definitely improved...

For my birthday last month, my mom and I went on an art shopping spree. I got an ink barrel, a pen for the hand-me-down nibs my mom gave me ((and then got as a gift from one of my friends, new nibs and another pen. YAY!!)), and a bunch of stuff for watercolors, including a pack of 24 colors, five brushes, a tray, and a "sketch"book. Finally, I got the chance ((and enough inspiration)) to actually paint something!

I've used this type of watercolor tubes when painting the model I made of a Macbeth set for my Stage Design class last year, but this was waaay more fun, w/ waaay more colors. ^_-

This is the vision I've had for quite some time that I wanted to paint...more or less. It's definitely changed since being put to paper, but I love it nonetheless. In the end, it was completely inspired by two Evanescence songs, "Field of Innocence," which is my favorite song ever of all time, and "Imaginary." An alternate title of this would have been "Goddess of Imaginary Light," which is a line from "Imaginary." But in the end, "Field of Innocence" won out.

The line "Where has my heart gone?" is from the song. It's utterly beautiful. I suggest you go listen to it.

The reason the word "heart" is written in the shape of an actual human heart is because I almost had her holding onto her heart, but then decided to write the word heart instead, which led to the line being put in there. I just couldn't stand having a plain old  in there. It would be too stupid! So...realism. XP
